Youth Art

The Multnomah Arts Center Youth Art program offers a process-oriented art experience for children of all ages. While providing instruction in the use of art materials and techniques, our teachers guide students through the creative process in an effort to elicit and encourage each child’s individual style of visual expression. We encourage children in our classes to trust their own artistic impulses. The youth art experience at MAC begins at 187 months with family classes designed for the parent or guardian to interact with the child. The journey continues through the teen years, fostering independence, self-confidence, and continued creativity with opportunities in a wide variety of art mediums.
