Born in Inverness, Scotland, Rosemary has a BA from the United States International University. She has studied and performed Ballet for most of her life, beginning with Robert Lindgren, former director of the School of American Ballet, and his wife, Sonya Tyven, both of whom continue to inspire her.
Rosemary also studied Modern Dance at the London School of Contemporary Dance. In San Diego, she studied with Wayne Davis and performed with Stage 7 Ballet Theatre, City Moves!, San Diego Ballet Ensemble, Jean Isaacs, Del Mar Theater Ensemble, West Coast Productions, Hallmark Video, and numerous modern dance, industrial and musical theater productions. She has been lucky to have participated in work shops and master classes taught by internationally respected members of the dance community such as Jilanna (ABT), Tom Rudd (S.F. Ballet), Woody McGriff (Bill T. Jones), Gary de Loatch (Alvin Ailey), Haim Ohm (Batsheva), Bill Cratty (Limon), Nancy Callahan (White Oak/Lar Lubovich), Albert Reid (Cunningham), Barry Bernal (“Cats”, “Miss Saigon”, “Starlight Express”), Lonne Morreton and others. Since moving to Portland, Rosemary has performed with Portland Opera, Mythobolis Dance Theatre, Janet Towner, and local chroeographers. She has been teaching Ballet for over 25 years.
