Jaye Campbell

Textiles Specialist

Jaye Campbell has been teaching weaving at the Multnomah Arts Center since 1981. She’s also the specialist for both MAC’s Textiles Department and Gallery. She holds a BA in American Studies from Brandeis University where she emphasized art and architecture. She started her custom handweaving business, Flying Shuttle Weaving Studio, in 1979. One of her ongoing clients is Timberline Lodge, which was featured in the 2007 PBS series, “Craft in America,” when she experienced a nanosecond of fame in the filming of the segment on the lodge. Her woven work has been published in the book Fiberarts VII by Interweave Press, Handwoven Magazine, Oregon Magazine, and The Oregonian. She has received grants from the Portland Handweavers Guild and Regional Arts and Culture Council. Jaye volunteers for Art on Alberta as PR Coordinator and for Frank Lloyd Wright’s Gordon House in Silverton, OR, as a textiles consultant.
