Amy Jo McCarville
Performing Arts Coordinator
Amy Jo is an arts administrator, theatre artist, yogini, and musician passionate about collaboration and community making.
She holds a BA in Theatre & Film from the University of Kansas and is a graduate of the Dell’Arte International School of Physical Theatre’s Professional Training Program. Since 2005, she has been coordinating the Theatre Program at MAC and in 2015 became the Performing Arts Coordinator. She also coordinates MAC’s Mind & Body and Literary Arts programs.
As an actor/creator, mask-maker, and costumer Amy Jo has worked with Hand2Mouth Theatre, Rough&ReadyPDX, and Radiant Theatre, among others, as well as performing self-produced ensemble and solo work. She is pursuing a teaching certification in Yoga and Social Justice through the Daya Foundation with Sarahjoy Marsh, with a goal of making yoga accessible to everyone.
Amy Jo got her start playing music in the satirical country band The Roundups and played with the Portland-based folk-pop band Keep Your Fork, There’s Pie.
As a mom to two young boys, Amy Jo gets most of her creative and performing action these days as a singer, songwriter, keyboardist, and guitarist with the band The Big Ol’ Hearts. If she has a moment, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and friends, knitting, cooking, and dreaming up new ways to create and inspire community.
